Title MUCK

This is Roseanna’s second time performing at SHOW. In 2016 she presented 20 minutes of her first play Test Copy, which then progressed into a full-length production, developed with and directed by Pat Kiernan and produced by Nenagh Arts Centre in 2017. The production toured to various venues including The Clonmel Junction Festival, The New Theatre and The Viking Theatre Dublin.

Theatre credits include: My Romantic History (Verdant Productions), Midsummer (Project Arts Centre), Copper Face Jacks: The Musical (Verdant Productions, Olympia Theatre),  Signatories (Verdant Productions, Kilmainham Gaol + Olympia Theatre), The Bridge Below The Town (Livin' Dred), Beyond The Brooklyn Sky (Red Kettle, National Tour), AnnaBellaEmma (Rough Magic; Seeds).

Roseanna is a graduate of The Gaiety School of Acting's full time professional actor training programme where she was a recipient of The Gaiety Theatre Bursary Award. She is also a graduate of UCC with a degree in Drama and Theatre Studies.

MUCK will look at how the mix of loneliness and vulnerability in modern rural Ireland can lead to toxic consequences.

Maureen McLoughney celebrated her 30th birthday the same way she’s done for the last 20 or so, a trip to Tramore with Mam and Dad. The seaside, the sandwiches and bottle of orange, the rollercoaster, the ghost train she’s now entirely too big for. The build up to this particular milestone however bursts open the dam of Maureen’s mind, her muddy thoughts spew through her chapped lips and the tidal wave of sludge she crashes the party with spoils everything, including everyone’s appetite for the birthday Swiss roll…

Roseanna has developed this new script with the support of the Tipperary Tyrone Guthrie residency award. She hopes to build it into a full-length production with a strong design team and present it on stage in the coming year.
